The title of the workbench has the format "Perspective - Eclipse Workbench". The perspective name defines "how" I'm looking at information, but not "what". In my mind "what" is just as or more important than "how" (justification below). Hence, I think the window title should be "ProductName - Input : Perspective", or something similar. Justification: 1. Start the workbench with the default perspective. You're looking at "the workspace, or everything" with the "Resource Perspective". The title says "Resource - Eclipse Workbench". 2. Create two projects in the navigator. 3. Select one and invoke "Open in New Window | Resource". A new window will open on the selected project. This is an important feature, because it allows scoping and increases the scalability of the project. The title of the new window is "Resource - Eclipse Workbench". 4. Go back to the first window. 5. Select the second project. Invoke "Open in New Window | Resource". A new window will open. Now you have 3 windows which all have the same caption, but clearly they present different information. The titles are useless. This problem also occurs when you create 3 pages within a single window. To resolve this I think the titles should be .. Workspace ( or some other term, maybe All, or * ) : Resource Perspective Project 1: Resource Perspective Project 2: Resource Perspective NOTES: EG (5/1/2001 9:18:54 AM) I would also like to see the input element in the title. When changing the title format keep in mind that the most distinguishing information is in the front this allows you to distinguish the windows in the short cut bar. Having all windows start with Product name would make them only distinguishable by the icon. The last proposal makes more sense to me.
