Build ID: I20070530-0010 I think it wouldn't be too hard to provide an outline for patch files. Showing projects and files contained in the patch would be enough. On the other hand I'm aware that editing or even opening patch files is not done very often...
I am actually wondering if "apply patch" action should open patch into Synchronize perspective where you could have more flexibility for comparing and merging things.
I think what you are asking for is a patch file editor with an Outline view.
Yep, this is exactly what I meant. The Outline view could be used not only to analyze structure of the patch but also to navigate between files from the patch. The files can be located in different folders/projects all over ones workspace, this implies that we could start from providing such a view for "Workspace Patches".

Szymon, could you take a look at the patch? It's rough but gives the idea. The icon and context menu are missing.
I agree with Eugene, that Apply Patch in Sync View is more flexible than just an outline. Apply Patch in Sync View is added in 3.6, so this enhancement seems to be less important now.
