Paste Connection should be invisble when there is no parsable connection string in the clipboard. The purpose of this bug is that the fact that the entry is visible can make us think that we are able to paste in a connection. This is not always true (eg. we have copied a string which only in our opinion can work as connection or the clipboard is empty).

Do you mean disabled instead of invisible? We don;t want to hide disabled menu items since we still want to give the user an idea of what is possible. However, I agree that the item should be disabled if the clipboard does not contain a valid connection string.

My initial intention was to hide the menu entry, but you are right Michael, disabling it is a better approach.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
