To reproduce
1.Copy a wsdl file to the workspace project
2.Right click to select In-Place Editor to open this file

Log error:
!MESSAGE Problems occurred when invoking code from plug-in: "org.eclipse.core.resources".

Is there nothing more in the log than that?  That isn't much to go on.  Do you have a system editor for WSDL files registered?
