On other platforms, the default text in the filter field of FilteredTrees is selected when the user gives focus to the field by clicking into it once. This does not work on the Mac: The text quickly flashes but ends up unselected.

It's especially cumbersome on the new keys preference page, since clicking the "x"  at the right end of the field does not give focus to the field.

Text.selectAll() doesn't appear to be working as per bug 46059.

This will get fixed with the fix I'm making for bug 257176.
