Would be nice if Filter Text for New Project/Show View was applied on the categories/parent nodes too.

To give you an example, I launch Eclipse, I want to launch one of those views contributed by PDE dont remember the names, so I perform Show View-Other, I type in PDE in the Filter Text, I see no result, Thats because the word PDE is a part of the parent node/category and not part of the name of an actual view

currently the Filter Text is applied only to actual results, it would be a nice enhancement/usability thing if it were to be applied towards Categories (parent nodes)

Same thing in New Wizards...

I launch WTP, I do new project..., type in J2EE I see nothing, it would be helpful if I see the j2ee node and its children (since the word j2ee iss part of the category name)

I am sure someone has already requested this before.

In 3.3, you get this behaviour in the new QuickAccess dialog (bound to Ctrl-E in recent milestone builds, but this will be changed to Ctrl-3.

At this point in the development cycle, we cannot change this for FilteredTree.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
