Description Jerry Cheng CLA 2007-04-17 23:38:44 EDT
Eclipse crash sporadically when use SWT browser to preview report.

In our project, we use SWT browser to preview html report.
To retrieve report content dynamically, we use Ajax. Sometimes it will cause eclipse crash on some linux OS.

We has tried many SWT versions, this issue existed sporadically and is unpredictable.

Can't do a thing without a test case, some code or some steps or even a list of the Linux distributions you are crashing on. You should make sure that you are running the latest SWT from HEAD, then report this information back to this bug report.

I can reproduct this bug either with BIRT build integrated into eclipse.
Each time I preview a simple report in GUI Layout and click Layout to back to design view, eclipse will crash.

I can always reproduce this bug in Redhat WS4 and AS4.

However, it's ok if I use external browser instead of embedded browser.

Revisiting, I download birt all-in-one package for Linux and it does not crash for me (RHEL4) when I view the report Preview tab. Does this build crash for you? And if so, are there more specific steps that are needed to reproduce the problem?

Timed out, closing report. If you have specific steps on how to reproduce this problem then please reopen, thanks.
