Currently in BIRT text cannot be embossed over an Image. Though a solution exists for this problem, where one can define a style consisting of the image and apply this style to the text. But this does not yield a neat text over image embossing. Moreover, this solution fails, if one has to place multiple text elements over an image.

For the second case, current workaround is use a grid with back-image as the container of multiple text elements.
