Description Adam Cabler CLA 2007-04-03 21:01:22 EDT
Currently, there doesn't seem to be a way to show a customized workspace launcher. Customers downloading product <X> may be confused about "Choosing an Eclipse Workspace". It would be nice to be able to override this with something custom, or at least be able to change the text, etc.

I think this could be achived as part of bug 177189

We're not going to get this for 3.3 unfortunately. This is new API...

Thanks for the reply, Kim. Could you please verify that there is no existing support for doing something like this to make sure I'm not missing another avenue?

If you're owning the whole application in the RCP sense then you can do it. You simply implement your own IApplication with its own workspace chooser dialog. There's no way to customize the behavior of the IDE application workspace chooser other than by dorking the internal classes provided in the IDE plugin.

Prakash is now responsible for watching bugs in the [WorkbenchLauncher] component area.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
