Description Fedja Jeleskovic CLA 2007-03-22 13:40:16 EDT
Build ID: I20070222-0951

Steps To Reproduce:
1. Create a project that has some files in the folder
2. Click on Project Delete
3. Confirm Project Delete windows pops up
4. Do not delete contents is selected
5. Click on Yes button
6. You are still being prompted for the removal of the files!!

More information:
I just realized that I have lost some of the files from the workspace due to the removal of the project. When I tried to do this yesterday, I was prompted for two options regarding the delete:

    * Also delete contents under <your_folder>
(Contents cannot be restored using "Undo")
    * Do not delete contents <- this is a default option

When I went through this with a default option, all of my files got removed. To make it worse even a Clear Case commands (not sure which one yet, but I hope it is "rmname" only) where ran, so I have top try now to restore some of the things.

I was expecting that my contents will not be deleted, but something didn't work the way I planned.

I would like to changed the priority of this bug to P1 and severity to "major", since there is no work around this problem and price you pay for it is big, but I have no authority to do so. Could someone else do this?

Thanks!

Apparently, I was able to change severity but not the priority...

This could be a ClearCase bug, since it's not reproducible with the basic SDK. Are there any errors in your log file when this happens? (workspace/.metadata/.log)

Log file with all of the errors

Here is the log file from the project that did this. Have in mind that the main issue here is that files are deleted even though selection specifies no file delete. Once it goes through the delete process ClearCase should remove them as well. But, if I select don't remove option, then ClearCase shouldn't be a part of this at all!

I have had the same exact problem today only with java projects.
Using 3.3M6

Could this be a duplicate of bug 180758?

Well, since this bug was created before the 180758 the other one can be made duplicate! :)

But to me it looks like they are indeed describing the same issue.

If files were truly deleted when "do not delete project contents" was selected in the prompt, then this is NOT a duplicate of bug #180758. That bug refers to a misleading prompt to delete read only files, but the files were never actually deleted. I have never seen a "do not delete project contents" result in actual deletion of files, and I try this quite often when troubleshooting various other undo bugs.
