Description David Michonneau CLA 2007-03-20 11:37:38 EDT
This project will focus on automatically setting font sizes based on the chart
size, auto wrapping and auto positioning of X-Axis labels.

Here are a few use cases that this project will address:
- Legend entries not shown when there are too many
- Chart not readable when plot is too small
- X Axis Labels drop when there are too many
- Title clipped when too long

when designing the solutions, you might want to look at comment #1 posted in Bug #179126. Adjusting font size or positioning the labels differently might be a good solution but this may not be what the clients would expect. Specifically, consider these issues:

1. in our clients, we could have a preference to allow user to change the font size etc
2. we want the consistency in our charts. Specifically if we have two charts on the screen, one of them having small available size. Then the first one would be "adjusted" (font size, labels etc) and second will not be. This will create inconsistent look and feel

another solution as proposed in comment #1, would be to have a notion of minimum size so that as clients, we can display charts with scrollbars for example if we want to..

Need to defer due to time constraints.
