Build ID: I20070313-1051 Steps To Reproduce: 1. Select different files in same project 2. Right click on one of them : you can copy them with CTRL-C 3. Select different files in different projects 4. Right click : CTRL-C copy is disabled This is the same in "Package Explorer" More information: You can't copy files in another folder in Eclipse but you can drag'n'drop them outside Eclipse, to windows explorer for instance. I'm not sure, but I think this function worked in previous releases of Eclipse...
As per http://wiki.eclipse.org/Platform_UI/Bug_Triage_Change_2009
I had a look at this and from the sourcecode ( org.eclipse.ui.actions.CopyFilesAndFoldersOperation.validateDestination(IContainer, IResource[]):1519) I understand that this is intentional behavior, as described in bug #33398. Does everyone still agree that the user does usually not want to copy stuff from multiple projects? I know I have found myself in this situation a few times, expecting Eclipse to copy both files, independent of their place in their source hierarchies, into the single folder I would press paste on. Any thoughts on this? If it is agreed that the current behavior is still what is expected, I think this bug can be closed as WONTFIX.
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie.
