I20070115
I was synchronizing with CVS this morning and it was taking a long time.  Bored, I watched the progress indication in the status bar.  At one point it went from 58% to 57%.  A few seconds later it was back to 58%.  I talked to Tod and he asserts that the only way this is possible is if a negative "worked" value is reported.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.
