Description Cindy Jin CLA 2007-01-11 17:35:18 EST
Import application log from vista platform, and open them in log view:
There are some logs have empty message field. However if checks the same log entry in the windows event log viewer in vista platform, that field is not empty, for example, the message for an log in windows event log viwer is "
Certificate Services Client has been started successfully." however the same log entry after import has empty message field.

Increasing severity because potentially valuable data is missing from the message of some events in the TPTP Log view. The events that result in an empty message value are coming from WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation Service) and Certificate Services Client. The EventLogReader.exe program is not reading all of the data from the event.

Deferring this to 4.4 with PMC's approval. It could not be contained in 4.2.2.
Bugzilla https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=170534 has been opened
to add an entry to the 4.2 and 4.3 Release Notes for this issue.

Assigning this to Cindy to fix in iteration 1.

As of TPTP 4.6.0, TPTP is in maintenance mode and focusing on improving quality by resolving relevant enhancements/defects and increasing test coverage through test creation, automation, Build Verification Tests (BVTs), and expanded run-time execution. As part of the TPTP Bugzilla housecleaning process (see http://wiki.eclipse.org/Bugzilla_Housecleaning_Processes), this enhancement/defect is verified/closed by the Project Lead since this enhancement/defect has been resolved and unverified for more than 1 year and considered to be fixed. If this enhancement/defect is still unresolved and reproducible in the latest TPTP release (http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/downloads/), please re-open.
