The Java Perspective's Package Explorer has a "most recently used filters" feature that I miss in the J2EE Perspective's Project Explorer. In Package Explorer, the most recently used filters show up in the view menu, avoiding the need to click in the "Filters..." option and finding the filter in the filters dialog.

I couldn't find the so-called "More recently used filters" in JDT Package Explorer? Is this still existing? If not, I'd like to close this bug as a WONTFIX.

To see the effect you have first to select few filters from filter dialog, then next time you open the filter menu you will see the mru filters list. I use it ecery day to switch hidden files off/on.

I'm putting a tentative target for 4.6.M7 as the patch is pending and doesn't look bad at first sight. However, I'm not knowledgeable enough in MRU to complete the review, so if some other committer can look at it, that'd be welcome. In case we miss it for M7, it will be for 4.7.
Mass move to 4.6 RC1. We might push out more to 4.7.
Is there anything I can do to get this into 4.7?
Pinging from time to time is a good way to make progress. I'll try to review this and merge it for 4.7.M3. However, as I'm not familiar with MRU and a bit anxious about the risk of breaking the navigator in an unexpected way (there are many workflows I'm not even aware of), I'll ask you many many things for a safe review... Sorry in advance about that, and please take patience and keep hope, that can help ;) Let's continue the more technical discussion on Gerrit.
