Description Jerome CLA 2006-12-08 05:47:02 EST
1. Make the editor area blank.
2. Open a file to display the editor.
3. Open another file, this editor was stacked on previous one.
4. Drag&Drop the latter editor to the bottom(See the attachment).
5. Right click the tab of one editor, select "Close All".
Only editors in current active editor stack closed. Hope all the editors in the workbench will be closed.

Also hope providing API for the layout of editor area, such as creating new editor stack(though I can achieve this by invoking EditorStack's newEditorWorkbook() method, but it's a discouraged class access, hope publishing it or providing api at IWorkbenchPage interface). Thanks!

I've asked around here and there is no consensus as to what the expected behaviour in this case should be. Nothing feels quite right. Perhaps when there is more than one stack we can add a "Close All In Stack" option to the menu...

The same problem with "Close Others" action when there're more than one editor opened in one stack.
Just my opinion: the end users should not know the knowledge about "stack", they only know the editors' layout. However, I'm not sure the meaning of "Close All", if it means closing all editors, then all the opened editors should be closed, no matter where they located.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
