More than once when defining a new task I wanted to save some remark, URL, or some code snippet taht I had found with it. Adding a comment or note field to user-defined tasks might make them a lot more useful. Another option I'ld love to see is to be able to "attach" tasks to or "filter" tasks according to projects currently open (I open and close projects a lot to have "more focus" in many views (e.g. problems) and selection boxes, e.g. when selecting classes to extend or such). It should be possible to define "global" tasks (always listed and not attached to a specific project) and other taks, that "belong" to a specific project, i.e. which are only shown when a specific project is open. For this it probably would make sense to allow to specify an element or a location for user-defined tasks (i.e. pick a project and optionally an element and location). Currently these fields are shown in the tasks creation dialog but are grayed out. If one picks a location there the task should only be listed when that location (or its corresponding project) is currently open. Michael
There are currently no plans to work on this although we would be happy to review patches
As per http://wiki.eclipse.org/Platform_UI/Bug_Triage_Change_2009
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
