Description Michael Giroux CLA 2006-10-11 10:30:29 EDT
The current options for search results are show as list and show as tree. The show as tree gives a navigator view style tree of the directory structure.

It would be nice to have an option that displays results in a java package style structure. When show as tree is selected, if the project containing the matches is a java project, and the match resides in a source folder, then the search results could be displayed as they are in the tree view of the package explorer with the directories of a package displayed as a single package name instead of a series of nested folder names.

This could be a new "show as" option, or it could be a search preference.

Indeed, making the generic 'File Search' behave kind of like the CNF to allow other people to plug in their own models would be very nice.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
