Description Marion Schmid CLA 2006-10-04 10:00:26 EDT
Hello,

I wonder how I can keyboard-navigate to disabled controls in editors. While focussing disabled menu items is possible, I didn't succeed doing so for example in the PDE editor (disabled remove button in the runtime tab,...)
Thus my JAWS 7.1 screenreader doesn't notify me about the disabled UI elements.
In Inspect32 MSAA test tool, the disabled buttons or labels are in state 'unavailable, focusable'. But actually, I wonder how they are focusable, as I could imagine that if they were focusable, JAWS would read it.
Does anyone of you have a comment on this? I couldn't find a similar bug report.
Thanks in advance and best regards . marion

You cannot navigate to disable controls - this is an OS limitaton/feature.

You cannot give focus to a disabled control.
