Description Dean Roberts CLA 2006-09-25 11:14:21 EDT
It would be beneficial if derived files where decorated in a distincitve manner. Perhaps a different or altered icon on the editor tab, perhaps a differentley coloured background colour (this might be too obtrusive).

Decorating derived files in views (Package Explorer, etc.) is currently not possible, since there's no delta when the derived flag is toggled (bug 45805).

org.eclipse.zrh.derivedDecorator

In case someone is interested, here's a plug-in project I wrote some time ago that contributes such a decorator. Note that it only decorates resources that are marked as derived themselves, but not those which have a derived ancestor (see also bug 105917).

The overlay image is too ugly for release, but it does its job if you just need it for testing in the target workbench.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
