Description Daniel Serodio CLA 2006-08-16 13:24:06 EDT
It would be nice to have Mylar "accept ticket" (if the ticket status is "new") on Trac when the corresponding Mylar Task is activated.

Great idea. I think this should be made configurable through the preference dialog.
Comment 2 Eugene Kuleshov CLA 2006-08-16 18:50:02 EDT
Repository preferences I presume?

I wonder if a global preference is too 'aggressive'. When you work in a team context it is common to activate others' tasks, and when you don't hopefully you can set Trac up so that they're autmoatically assigned to you? So I wonder if a better UI for this would be a check box in the rich editor for Trac. Or perhaps a editor and Task List context menu for reassignment (bug 152415 is related).

We could possibly have a global default and make this configurable per repository like many of the Java preferences for projects.

BTW, I think this would be a useful feature for Bugzilla as well.

I would only automatically accept tickets if the owner activates the task or if the tasks has not been accepted.

I don't understand what you mean by automatically assigning tasks? For Trac you can reassign an accepted task.

I think a "reassign" radio button like Bugzilla has it would be nice to have for Trac as well (this how it is done in the Trac web ui).

Trac has a configurable feature which allows to use a combo box for the assign to action: http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracTickets#AssigntoasDropDownList .

IMHO, having to many buttons and options in the rich editor makes it less effective to use.
Therefore, I would prefer more per-repository preferences to configure default actions.

Mylyn has been restructured, and our issue tracking has moved to GitHub [1].

We are closing ~14K Bugzilla issues to give the new team a fresh start. If you feel that this issue is still relevant, please create a new one on GitHub.
