So do they already have such provider or Service in place?
And is there a guideline to set up a Mylar Repository?
(e.g. the generic Web Service based one)
Comment 3 Mik Kersten CLA 2007-01-12 11:07:23 EST
I'm not aware of any Mylar integration being in place.
Comment 4 Eugene Kuleshov CLA 2007-01-12 11:38:33 EST
If someone can point me to the public test director instance, I can create template for web repository connector...
Comment 5 stijnslaets CLA 2007-01-26 17:29:00 EST
Testdirector uses an ActiveX client, AFAIK there is no regular web (html) client available. I guess this rules out any integration using the web connector...
A provider for Testdirector would be more than welcome though as the Testdirector client can be hell to work with..

Comment 6 Bill Snyder CLA 2007-09-24 23:13:31 EDT
It can be done with JACOB and the QualityCenter/TestDirector Open Test Architecture ActiveX controls. That may mean some restrictions in the connector implementation; but it would be worth it.

The QC/TD connector is something I need for my job, and I am trying to see what I can come up with.

May be harder than we think to make it cross platform:

Comment 8 Jesper Mortensen CLA 2009-03-15 07:42:52 EDT
If anyone could point me to a .wsdl file defining requierements for a generic (repository connector) interface

I might be able to provide a TestDirectorQualityCenter testserver exposing the services

I would wrap the ActiveX Client API using .Net
Comment 9 Hugh Reid CLA 2009-07-03 06:03:52 EDT
Why does it need to be cross platform?
Corporate users will need to have a client anyway, which means they must be already using the correct native environment.

I was on HP Universe June 2009

A Mylyn integration is part of the roadmap for Quality Center/Test Director

But there was no information about which version it would appear in

Comment 11 Mik Kersten CLA 2009-07-24 19:37:41 EDT
Jesper: Thanks for the info, good to know. If you find out any additional info please consider posting here. In the meantime I'll try to reach out to HP to learn more.

Hi all,

I'm starting the development of a such connector.

Their are 2 separate projects:
* https://sourceforge.net/projects/qcmylyn: the mylyn connector.

* https://sourceforge.net/projects/qctools4j: a library that manages the connection to QC (based on Com4j - generated with QC 9.2)

Actually, I'm able to get bugs and to update them inside Mylyn (creation of a new bug doesn't work)...

The source code is available in svn. I think a first release should be available in september...
Comment 13 Thomas SZADEL CLA 2009-08-26 06:12:17 EDT
Let's find an alpha version of the connector in that update site: http://qcmylyn.sourceforge.net/update

Build Note:
* Eclipse 3.5 is required
* Quality Center 9.2 has been used (but other versions may work)
* Search page is not yet supported
* Comment are parsed (QC stores them in HTML format), but a new comment shall start with "user name <login>, dd/mm/YYYY:" to be correctly decoded
* Attachments are supported
* Mylyn priorities are not yet supported

Feel free to post bugs and/or feature requests in the project's tracker (https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=272467)

Glad to see, somebody finally (after about 3 1/2 years !;-) addressed this problem. Shame it has not been done by HP directly, but at least QC10.00 now seems to provide a more solid basis for this...
We are evaluating the connector in our project team now.

I'd be happy to provide feedback or suggestions straight from the "front".
Comment 15 Thomas SZADEL CLA 2009-11-18 05:22:48 EST
Great :) let's try the devel version (0.2.5-DEVEL) which contains several improvements and supports QC 9.0, 9.1, 9.2 (and logically 10).
Comment 16 Uri Kalish CLA 2010-06-17 13:57:45 EDT
There's a new Quality Center mylyn connector (created by HP) available for 9.2 and 10.00 compatible with Eclipse 3.4 and 3.5.
http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/Mylyn_Extensions#HP_Quality_Center

Enjoy.

Several connectors for HP Quality center are now available that support various version of HP QC/ALM.

Open-Source integration:
http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/qcmylyn/index.php?title=Main_Page

Commercial integration from HP:
http://update.external.hp.com/qualitycenter/qc90/others/mylynconnector/index.html

Commercial integration from Tasktop Technologies:

Comment 18 Werner Keil CLA 2011-02-27 02:35:06 EST
Although it was sometimes a bit unstable (or probably rather QC underneath ?;-) we used that one nearly 2 years back in a large Agile team.

Glad, after at least twice as long, my Bugzilla item could be closed based on 2, 3 or more competing connectors for this.
Comment 19 Uri Kalish CLA 2011-02-27 07:53:53 EST
Regarding Eclipse and Visual Studio connectors for ALM 11.0 and QC 10.0 - HP has delegated the development of these connectors to Tasktop, as part of the cooperation between the two companies.

More details can be found here:
ALM 11.0: http://update.external.hp.com/qualitycenter/qc110/others/ideconnector/
QC 10.0: http://update.external.hp.com/qualitycenter/qc100/others/ideconnector/
QC 9.x: http://update.external.hp.com/qualitycenter/qc90/others/mylynconnector/
Comment 20 Robert Elves CLA 2011-03-10 09:20:26 EST
The HPQC/ALM Connector is now available from Tasktop. For details please see http://tasktop.com/connectors/hp-alm-quality-center.php
Comment 21 Philippe Marschall CLA 2011-03-17 05:01:09 EDT
Robert, does the HPQC/ALM Connector require Tasktop Pro/Enterprise or is it free of charge?
