Update: Update works.
Select Help/Software Update/Manage Configuration, then
select PHP IDE feature and
click in the right windown on the update button.

This solves this bug for me.

Updating to 0.2.0 does not work, either. Updates works only, if you copy the new files to the eclipse folder.

Version: 3.2.0 Build id: M20060629-1905; Win2k, JKD 1.5.0_06

Trying to update PHP, WSE, UML2. Quite a number (perhaps 20) of .tmp.pack.gz files were not unpacked; I did them by hand but then found another number of zero-sized .tmp files:
-rw-r--r-- 1 dhl None 0 Aug 19 23:46 ./1156042581604/eclipse24347.tmp
-rw-r--r-- 1 dhl None 0 Aug 19 23:48 ./1156042581605/eclipse24355.tmp
-rw-r--r-- 1 dhl None 0 Aug 19 23:48 ./1156042581605/eclipse24356.tmp
-rw-r--r-- 1 dhl None 0 Aug 19 23:48 ./1156042581605/eclipse24357.tmp
-rw-r--r-- 1 dhl None 0 Aug 19 23:48 ./1156042581605/eclipse24359.tmp
-rw-r--r-- 1 dhl None 0 Aug 19 23:48 ./1156042581605/eclipse24360.tmp
-rw-r--r-- 1 dhl None 0 Aug 19 23:48 ./1156042581605/eclipse24363.tmp
-rw-r--r-- 1 dhl None 0 Aug 20 00:05 ./1156042581624/eclipse24387.tmp

Update bailed on 1423555.tmp; that was likely the first found. Tried Manage Configuration::Scan for Updates got "No updates for the currently installed feature(s) found; try again later"

Comment 8 Donald H Locker CLA 2006-08-20 01:43:52 EDT
Followup: Apparent success, by hand unpacking any files that weren't automatically unpacked.

I reduced the update list to just WTP/WSE and chose the first package. (Sorry, can't remember the name, but it was a requirement for the PHP update.)

When the install paused to ask me if I wanted to install the update, even though it was unsigned, I switched to my emacs/bash process and checked for yet-unpacked files, unpacked them, then continued. (for m in `find . -name '*.pack.gz' -print`; do nm=`dirname $m`/`basename $m .pack.gz`; if test \! -f $nm; then echo "$m"; unpack200 $m $nm; fi; done) The first time I did this, 6 files unpacked; the second time (install first update failed for an unpacked file.) 5 files unpacked; they were not the same as the first set of 6. Clicked Install on the "Do you want to install the unsigned ...." and it continued, and apparently finished successfully.

Updating to 0.2.2 does not work too. (WinXP)

Previous report was about automatic update. Updating in other way (when I selected
Help/Software Update/Manage Configuration, then PHP IDE feature and
clicked on the update button) worked right.
(After that, zend debugger was updated correctly with automatic updates.)

Can we close this bug?
Comment 14 Gadi Goldbarg CLA 2007-02-11 08:58:47 EST
Still happens - when server is on windows and client is Mac or Linux
Comment 15 Alon Peled CLA 2007-02-12 06:49:33 EST
There were no problems with the Eclipse update site recently, the above mentioned jars might have been corrupt
Comment 16 Gadi Goldbarg CLA 2007-02-18 03:12:29 EST
ok - then fixed
Comment 17 Nick Boldt CLA 2008-09-03 12:40:59 EDT
Sounds like this could have been a dupe of bug 203794, the namespace conflict bug: "PDT Update fails on some mirrors."
