If you set your display to be high-contrast, then the Welcome Page icons are not visible. If you hover your mouse over where the icons are (either by chance or by memory), then the hover-text will appear.

Edit: This is using Eclipse 3.2 M6, on Windows XP

When I tried this in 3.2 (M20060629-1905) I see the icons on the welcome page.  I am using XP as well.  Is this still a problem for you?

i'm not seeing this anymore, seems to have been fixed sometime after M6.

In light of comment #2 and comment #3, I am marking this as fixed against 3.2.
