Description CDE Administration CLA 2006-05-25 18:40:27 EDT
OS: RHEL 3.1
Must fix or not a must fix: NO
Build date: 052406
Component name = TPTP
Blocking: NO
Language: da
Bitmap Location: V:\defects\da
Tester Name: Mette Djoerup (user ID: dantvt03)
Problem Description:

A period is displayed instead of a comma on the Range tab in the Import dialog for a Profiling File.
The Danish decimal delimiter is a comma.

Steps:
File -> Import -> Profiling and Logging -> Profiling file
Click Next
Click the Range radio button on the Range tab

If I enter a number with a comma instead of a period in one of the Range boxes, an error message displays (see bitmap attached).

Mette

Comment 3 Eugene Chan CLA 2006-06-14 10:29:11 EDT
retarget to 4.2.1
Comment 4 Eugene Chan CLA 2006-06-14 10:31:55 EDT
The fix should consider using ICU4J on formatting
Comment 5 Eugene Chan CLA 2006-10-19 17:51:23 EDT
mass update:
retarget from 4.3 to 4.4. Cannot be contained in 4.3 due to resource limtation.
Comment 6 Dave Smith CLA 2007-01-29 14:59:07 EST
The fix for this would be in Platform project code. Changing to a more
appropriate component.
Comment 7 Eugene Chan CLA 2007-02-01 00:06:38 EST
Target to future. Cannot be contained in 4.4 due to limitation of resource.
Comment 8 Cam-Thu Le CLA 2007-02-01 11:36:22 EST
This bug is a serious bug and must be fixed for IES 3.3. We cannot not support the correct decimal point for a locale.
Comment 9 Eugene Chan CLA 2007-02-01 11:58:42 EST
Joanna, Please re-consider this in the 4.4 plan, this is high severity to reporter.
Comment 10 Eugene Chan CLA 2007-02-02 19:42:42 EST
Re-target to 4.4 as this is high severity to downstream product and request fix in 4.4
Comment 11 jkubasta CLA 2007-04-03 21:21:36 EDT

patch v2

Paul. I modified your patch and use com.ibm.icu.text.NumberFormat instead which is the one we should be using. Would you please retest the scenario and make sure it works in both EN and DA? You may want to try with a few other locale to make sure.

Thanks a lot.
Comment 14 Paul Klicnik CLA 2007-04-04 13:34:23 EDT
Eugene,

The new patch has been tested with several different locales. The number formatting was adjusted accordingly for each test
Comment 15 Eugene Chan CLA 2007-04-04 19:51:43 EDT
Verified in DA and EN, committed to HEAD (4.4i3)

Thanks Paul.
