Description Nick Edgar CLA 2002-04-17 21:08:34 EDT
Build 20020416

The new comment tooltips help address the problem that the comment was not
shown, however they are not an accessible solution.
There is no way to get them without the mouse.
The comment for the current selection should be shown in the status line,
which can be seen when using keyboard, and which can be read by screen readers.

Even as a mouse user, I would prefer this solution.
The tooltips have the advantage that you can scan over the changes without
selecting them, however I think you would normally want to see the changes in
conjunction with the comment.

Comments are multi-line, they can't be shown in the status bar.

"Show in Resource History" on the selected resource gives you the comment and
much more, the hover help is a shortcut but not necessary.

Can this be closed?
Comment 2 Nick Edgar CLA 2002-04-18 11:41:59 EDT
I think it would be really valuable to have them in the sync view.
Using tooltips feels awkward.
How about a 2 or 3 line text box at the bottom?

Bug was titled
 "Comment tooltips are not accessible"
but I believe we've agreed that because they can be found elsewhere there is no
accessibility concern.
Comment 4 James Moody CLA 2002-05-16 14:38:59 EDT
They aren't anymore due to other problems. Bug 10475 describes how we might add
them again in a better way.

Closing.
