Description Benjamin Pasero CLA 2006-03-27 14:14:56 EST
I am currently working on an Eclipse RCP application and made myself familiar with the Commands extension point. I contributed a keyConfiguration, so that I could decide which KeyBindings are defined.

However, even when setting this as the default Scheme, the user would still be able to change to the Default-Theme in Key-Preferences-Page. In that he would see a lot of Commands being contributed from several RCP-Plugins.

Since I dont use nor show most of the Commands that are contributed for free, its a bit confusing for the User to now see so many Commands.

It would be useful being able to force the user to use only one Scheme, and thereby removing "Default" and "Emacs" from the Scheme-Combo in the Key-Preferences.

Actually this makes the key-config in Preferences kind of useless for the a RCP app :(

I take this as a "patch is welcome"?

AFAIK, the key preference pages aren't defined by default (but by the ide plugin). But you should compare what you want to do with the Keys (experimental) page in 3.3 ... hopefully we can make the old page disappear this release :-)

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got
resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some
reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it.
The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you
still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is
(for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

If the bug is still relevant, please remove the stalebug whiteboard tag.
