Build 20020409 When locally I have discarded a big JAR file, when synchronizing with my server, it will retrieve the entire remote JAR content so as to show me the compare view information. Note: there is no way for me to cancel this operation (JAR was about 3MB, and it took about 5 minutes to complete, during which the UI did not repaint itself). Basically, Eclipse was frozen during the entire process. However, compare doesn't show me anything for a JAR content, which leads me to thinking that it should be more lazy in request the server file content (and offer user cancel facility).
This problem was partially fixed when Platform Compare started using double- click to compare file contents. However, when the user does double-click, there is still no way to cancel the load. Changed title from: "Eclipse freezing several minutes while synchronizing"
