Description Karice McIntyre CLA 2006-03-02 15:09:44 EST
Spawned from bug 75206.
When importing or exporting large files, there should be better more detailed progress reporting. Currently it just says: Importing (or Exporting) <file name>.

This would require passing progress monitors to the ImportOperation.importFile() and FileSystemExporter.writeFile() methods, which currently is not the case.

Progress monitors would also need to be passed to TarFileExporter and ZipFileExporter.
Comment 2 Karice McIntyre CLA 2006-07-05 18:02:10 EDT
To be clear, this bug is suggesting when the file is > a particular size, that the progress of the import of that one file be reported via the progress monoitor.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
