I'll take this - it looks like the freeze is happening in resources code.

I'm confused about what is happening. In the bug title it says "core dump", but in the description it says "freeze". Does it actually crash, or is it just not responding? If not responding, is CPU usage high or low (from Windows Task List)?

To confirm, do you get the same freeze on RedHat Linux? If so, can you attach a stack dump for Linux as well? To do this, do "kill -3 <pid>" where <pid> is the process id of the Java process.

There are various behaviors. When I encountered IDE freeze, CPU was low usage and got zero size JVM core dump file and sometimes I got log file attached earlier. Another case, I got crash at launching up Eclipse and I got no JVM log.

On RedHat, I got freeze when showing Eclipse splash. CPU usage was low. I was unable to kill the java process. dump file was not created.
