Description Paul Slauenwhite CLA 2006-02-22 08:47:21 EST
Agent Controller port is not configurable for remote test execution.

When users configure the Agent Controller to run using a non-default port (e.g. not 10002), remote test execution does not work. That is, the user cannot specify the port of the remote Agent Controller either in the location asset, launch configuration or preferences.

However, there does exist a preference (Window >> Preferences... >> Test) for configuring the port of the Agent Controller on the local host. That said, does this setting work for test execution using the IAC?

I believe that the location is the logical place for this (whether via a well-known name/value pair, or a location attribute addition in the test model, or specifying the address as XX.XX.XX.XX:port), as it would allow the ability of naturally accommodating different ports for different remote RACs without any user edits (and in the future to support tests that run on multiple RACs that may be listening on different ports).

Although one could argue it is a defect, I've chosen to change it to be an enhancement request since it requires a new capability/specification to remove this limitation, and will need to be designed and documented. It can be changed back if others disagree.

Updating target to future as requested by the PMC.

Enhancements are targeted to future if not in plan for the current release.

As of TPTP 4.6.0, TPTP is in maintenance mode and focusing on improving quality by resolving relevant defects and increasing test coverage through test creation, automation, Build Verification Tests (BVTs), and expanded run-time execution. As such, TPTP is not delivering enhancements. As part of the TPTP Bugzilla housecleaning process (see http://wiki.eclipse.org/Bugzilla_Housecleaning_Processes), this enhancement is resolved as WONTFIX. For this enhancement to be considered, please re-open with an attached patch including the Description Document (see http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/documents/process/development/description_documents.html), code (see http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/documents/resources/TPTPDevGuide.htm), and test cases (see http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/documents/process/TPTP_Testing_Strategy.html).
