The more time I spend in the Workbench the happier I am, so it would be nice to have an in-place editor for Acrobat/PDF files. It is currently possible to open them via the Internal Browser's and MSIE's embedding of Acrobat, but this is a bit too cumbersome.
I just noticed that with Acrobat 6 there is an in-place editor (but it does the goofy thing of just showing an icon and always thinks it requires a save). So the description above seems Acrobat 7 specific.
Mik, I've changed this to be an enhancement request but barring a large community push I don't expect this to reach the top of the stack any time soon (we're fairly resource limited right now). If you want to create a patch to do this I'll look it over...
Thanks Eric. This one won't make it to our priority file for at least a couple of months since it's just a nice-to-have feature for consistency, but if it does I will definitely consider submitting a patch.
For what it's worth : - open source plugin PDF viewer : http://www.jpedal.org/eclipse.php - Acrobat ActiveX integration plugin : http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/library/os-activex/ Cheers, Sytze.
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
