The Workspace Launcher asks for a default workspace at startup, and it is always created even when I press cancel (and stops eclipse). The workspace contains nothing but the .metadata directory.
see also bug 179108. happens on both win and linux, and still occurs as of 3.4M3
(In reply to comment #1) > see also bug 179108. > happens on both win and linux, and still occurs as of 3.4M3 Also happens on OSX, as of 3.5.0. This seems to be duplicated by bug 179108.

I did a test and nothing happened. I think the bug FIXED. Eclipse 3.4.1 Worked normal. Build id: M20080911-1700 linux Eclipse e4 Worked normal. eclipse.buildId=I20100224-2100 linux
I just tested Version: 3.6.0 Build id: I20100129-1300 on a windows xp64 and it still creates an empty C:\Documents and Settings\***\workspace\.metadata
I just tested it with: Version: Indigo Release Build id: 20110615-0604 After clicking cancel, the workspace is NOT created. So this issue seems to be fixed. (Works for me at least)
