We had a report of someone who was using pserver when they should have been using extssh. The error message was "Cannot connect to host". In the very least we should improve the message to include the repository location.

Listing the connection type would also be helpful.  In this particular case it might have brought to the individual's attention that they were using the wrong connection type.

We do not plan to address this in 3.3.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.
