There is some confusion as to how these components are related.  A document or article explaining this would be very helpful.

could the article be "beefed up" with the following and moved to the Eclipse UI team page and submitted as an eclipse article?

My comments
- needs appendix with code samples or pointers to ext. pts. etc..
- needs pictures <g>
- needs an additional chapter showing how a product should (best practice) weave these things together coherantly

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and remove the stalebug whiteboard tag. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
