Description Ed Burnette CLA 2005-10-31 15:14:24 EST
3.2M2
When you move the mouse cursor over a view or editor and scroll the mouse wheel,
the obvious intent is that the view or editor under the cursor should be
scrolled. However in Eclipse (as of 3.2M2 at least) it scrolls the last view or
editor you clicked on instead.

Several native Windows apps I tried don't do this (Word 2002, VS.NET 2003, and
IE6 work the same way that Eclipse 3.2M2 is working), but Firefox always scrolls
the part under the mouse and I find I miss this when I use one of the apps that
don't. So this behaviour could be considered a usability improvement over the
native behaviour, or it could be considred a place where native behaviour is
incompletely specified or enforced. Regardless, I like point-and-scroll better
than point-click-and-scroll. Although I don't like options in general, an option
would ok if there's not a consensus on this.
