Description Eugene Kuleshov CLA 2005-10-26 07:51:07 EDT
When reviewing changes it would be nice to have special comparison editor that
would show all the changes in selected scope in a form of report.

That report may basically look as a diff with some hyper links and color
highlightings and it should be shown in the editor or as the last resort in the
web browser. It is probably possible to create diff file for the outbound
changes and then view it in the editor, but that is way too many operations and
also don't work for the incoming changes.

See example report at http://www.badgers-in-foil.co.uk/projects/cvsspam/

Sounds interesting but we don't have the manpower to do it. Perhaps you could
submit a patch or provide a plugin that does this.

Michael, since outline view already have an option to open comparison editor for
all the changes, I actually wonder if this piece can be implemented just as a
different/special/alternative view for a platform folder comparison editor. Say,
outline at the top or in a regular outline view and all the changes in a single
document using colorised diff format with all the hyperlinks (as opposed to
currently used two-panel layout).

I'd need to see a prototype to make any useful comments about what you just
described.

There is currently no plan to work on this item.
Comment 5 Denis Roy CLA 2009-08-30 02:19:26 EDT
As of now 'LATER' and 'REMIND' resolutions are no longer supported.
Please reopen this bug if it is still valid for you.
