The Package Explorer, Navigator, Hierarchy tabs (usually found on the left side of the screen) have Text labels that cannot be hidden. This causes only the top tab to be shown, and a small icon >> appears with a number indicating the number of hidden tabs that can now be accessed through the icon. It would be a nice enhancement in the constant struggle for more real-estate if these labels could be hidden, just as is the case with the buttons that you use to switch between pespectives (top right). The icons on the tabs are enough to identify them by.
I think this is a dupe...
Because the set of views in a folder is more stable than for editors, I think the default presentation should not use the chevron at all (or as a last resort). It should automatically truncate or hide the label (showing only the icon) first.
VI - could this be considered for the CTabFolder (essentially replace text with icon as first level of sizing? I guess it would be a bit odd as we don't show the icons for views that are not in focus now.
There are currently no plans to work on this feature. PW
Changes requested on bug 193523
Remy is now responsible for watching the [ViewMgmt] category.
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
