Description Kim Letkeman CLA 2005-10-21 17:49:05 EDT
We need this API or equivalent in order to obtain platform-wide properties
such as colors, styles, etc. We use these to implement custom widgets that
render differently based on focused/not focused state, etc.
Comment 1 Kim Horne CLA 2005-10-24 07:12:51 EDT
We didn't want to make these API because we wanted the flexibility to change the eclipse look and feel.
Making these public makes that difficult...

Mvm?

I'm not sure I understand how letting others access the Eclipse look and feel
controlling properties restricts you in any way from changing their content
and hence the Eclipse look and feel itself.

Did we not just go through a major revision of all Eclipse applications in the
3.x look and feel upgrade? Surely we're not going to be expected to do such
major work again?

Since others need to be able to recreate the Eclipse look and feel in custom
widgets (Eclipse does not provide a complete set), is it not necessary to have
some way of doing this?

Kim, could you provide information about exactly what you need to see?
Comment 4 Tod Creasey CLA 2007-03-14 15:40:19 EDT
Marking REMIND pending response
Comment 5 Denis Roy CLA 2009-08-30 02:09:42 EDT
As of now 'LATER' and 'REMIND' resolutions are no longer supported.
Please reopen this bug if it is still valid for you.
