Comment 3 Sri Doddapaneni CLA 2005-09-14 12:40:51 EDT
New agent controller port to Linux on EM64T and IPF is 4.1 plan. However, the
agentry need to be mirgrated or backward compatibility supported in new AC.
Comment 4 Karla Callaghan CLA 2006-01-03 20:57:30 EST
Fixed the summary to more accurately reflect what will be done. The RAC is not
being ported, rather we need to make the new AC, which already runs on Linux
IPF a viable replacement for the RAC on that platform. To that end, various
non-AC components need to be ported to the Linux IPF platform so that they
can run in backwards compatibility mode.

Specifically, we need the piAgent, perfmon agent, logging agent, CBE and BCI to
all work on the Linux IPF platform.

Also changing the owner to Hendra.
Comment 5 Karla Callaghan CLA 2006-01-06 13:33:00 EST
Guru indicates that BCI (Byte Code Instrumentation) is already ported to all the platforms TPTP currently runs on as well as the IPF and EM64T Linux and Windows platforms, so there is no bugzilla in the dependency list for it.
Comment 6 Karla Callaghan CLA 2006-01-24 19:15:02 EST
Some items may not complete until i2, so setting this umbrella's target for 4.2i2.
Comment 7 Sri Doddapaneni CLA 2006-03-29 19:01:49 EST
Deferred from 4.2 plan. Approved by PMC on Mar 29, 2006.

Add dependence on completion of IA32 Linux (125103)work since that needs to be completed before Linux IPF effort.
Comment 12 Sri Doddapaneni CLA 2006-08-18 12:52:56 EDT
Not part of 4.3 plan due to resource contraints.
Comment 13 Karla Callaghan CLA 2007-02-05 13:45:11 EST
Transferring general agent controller enhancement requests to new project lead (Joanna) for consideration in future releases.

Igor, I believe this defect can be marked as fixed now that only the testing/verification remains to be done.
