Description Shawn Minto CLA 2005-07-18 17:16:28 EDT
Alt+Click should work in the Java Browsing Perspective the same way it does
for the package explorer
Comment 1 Mik Kersten CLA 2005-07-19 15:10:07 EDT
Should it though? Alt-click shows all the filtered children, of a parent node
in a tree view, and there are no tree views in the browsing perspective. So
it would have to be different mechanism that would show all the filtered
nodes. But if that's desired shouldn't we just put the glasses on each view?
Comment 2 Shawn Minto CLA 2005-07-20 16:09:57 EDT
I see this working the same way as the tree. If you alt+click on a project,
the filter on the packages view is temporarily removed, etc. I like this
option since it is only temporary and only would require 1 click instead of
multiple (turn filter on and off), also, it would mirror the package explorer
so the transfer effects would be positive

Alright, it's not quite parallel since in the package explorer it shows the
children and in tree/list views, but if you figure you want to use it this way
let's go ahead and add it. We'll just say that it unfilters whatever is
sensible can given the view it's in ;) And we can make it work for the
problems list too. It will be a totally different action, since it will
temporarily have to remove the filter (obviously that can't happen in a tree
view).

Made infrastructure to support this.
Comment 5 Mik Kersten CLA 2005-07-22 13:22:43 EDT
So this turns out to be totally wierd. First, the Members view is actually
a tree view for no apparently good reason. Second, even when I tried it for
the others it doesn't work as expected because unfiltering doesn't necessarily
mean that anything will pop up in a view (e.g. if there are no interesting elements
selected in the view to the left of it. So for now I'm marking this down until
someone using the perspective wants it.

btw, you can now alt-click anywhere
with a view to show the first/root node's children.

I think the Members view is a tree to support inner types.

Mylyn has been restructured, and our issue tracking has moved to GitHub [1].

We are closing ~14K Bugzilla issues to give the new team a fresh start. If you feel that this issue is still relevant, please create a new one on GitHub.
