File org.eclipse.pde.ui\org\eclipse\pde\interal\ui\pderesources.properties. During Arabic TVT the tester encountered a bug in which the text under Plug-in Project > Overview, when highlighted, will "scroll" more text. It only happens under Arabic, no other supported languages. I have attached pictures of the problem provided by the tester. If need be I will supply Arabic NL fragments to so you can replicate the problem. Contact me at mtveety@us.ibm.com if you need them.
Created attachment 24628 [details] Before highlighting - normal text.
Created attachment 24629 [details] After highlighting - text has been "scrolled"
why is this so "critical"?
Just setting at the level that I was told to set it at. We simply need it taken care of as soon as possible.
Wassim, Dejan - can you take a look at this bug and see if it can be fixed for 3.1.1? Thanks. You can see the problem in English if you run Eclipse with program argument -dir rtl
This is a known bug in FormText selection with rtl text direction. I agree with Wassim that although it should be fixed, it cannot be critical (overview text is not code - just a description and selecting it is not a critical path operation).
Cam, this is not a blocking defect - can we change the Severity on this one to normal? Dejan, do you plan to fix this bug for 3.1.1?
We can look at it and decide depending on the extent of the code change required.
I tried but failed to lower the sev level. Mat, can you lower the sev to major. Thanks.
Dejan, has anyone looked at this bug yet? We need status on all the 3.1.1 targeted bugs.
We will not fix this bug in 2.1.1 time frame.
You mean 3.1.1 ?
Yes, sorry :-).
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
