BIRT only support one column in each page currently.
Many report engine can create reports with more than one column on each page, 
and user can customize column count, column header and column footer.
If this layout of report can be done by BIRT in future release?

Can you use grid with one row mulitple columns to create the report you need?

Grid with multiple columns can not spread the table output from one column to 
another column automatically. I must specify the data set for all columns.

Just like which JasperReports can do:

Grid with multiple columns can not spread the table output from one column to
