[science-iwg] Fwd: EGU Call for Abstracts - Open Data and Open Science & Reproducible Research for Big Data in Practice

Hi all,

Maybe this call for abstracts (see below) is interesting for some of
you. Researchers, research software engineers and data scientists in
the Geosciences are possibly the target group. But in general software
and data with a location-based context is of interest as long as there
is a relation to research and science.

I think a few people from the LocationTech and Science Working Groups
have relevant contributions for the audience of this conference in
Europe.

Looking forward to meeting you in Vienna next year.

Cheers,
Martin

Reproducible Research for Big Data in Practice

Hi everyone,

Are data and software crucial elements of your research?

Then we'll be happy if you could consider contributions for the
following two interdisciplinary sessions at the EGU GA 2017 next year
in Vienna:

- Open Data and Open Science - IE2.4 / ESSI3.10
  http://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU2017/session/23924

- Reproducible Research for Big Data in Practice - IE3.3 / ESSI4.11
  http://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU2017/session/24575

For details please follow the links provided above. Contributions can
be submitted via these web pages too.

Please note two important deadlines:
- December 1, 2016: Deadline for Support Applications
  (abstract should be submitted)
- January 11, 2017 (13:00 CET): Deadline for Abstract Submissions

Even if the abstract submission deadline is January 11, AGU and
Christmas time are ahead of us. So effectively there are a few weeks
left only to consider contributions.

Many thanks,
Martin Hammitzsch
