Re: [science-iwg] EclipseCon Europe 2016

Torkild,

Thanks for the update. I'll share it e.g. with STEM. They did not propose anything for Toulouse, but having e.g. committers at BfR (and I also talked more than once about it when ECE was still called Eclipse Forum Europe;-) I guess we could give it a try.

If there is reason to believe, the new CQs for JSR 363 (they are waiting for the Architecture Board or IP team to process I believe) could be approved before ECE, I may also offer a talk on that. Given the significance of getting read of the defunct and "illegitimate" (if you ask Oracle or its lawers;-) JSR 275 widely used by Science and even more LocationTech projects (every project on top of GeoAPI)

I can't say for the CQ and we may need yet another one for 1.0 but I know, based on our own progress JSR 363 should be final before EclipseCon Europe, so maybe I'll propose it.

Regards,

Werner

Hi all,

Just a little heads up. We are planning for a "Science and Location Technologies? track at EclipseCon Europe 2016[1], and it would be great if we can get at least the same number of talks as last year?s conference, ten combined. But that is up to you. There is hard competition to get talks in, and having a focused track makes these topics much more visible. So we need to keep the numbers up or risk loosing the track (and the spotlight).

I?m hoping to see many of you in Ludwigsburg this fall.?

Best regards,
Torkild U. Resheim (Science Steering Committee and ECE Program Committee member)

PS:?We should open for submissions on May 16th.
