I can't really speak to the intent, nor the arrangements. If there's doubt, I can just remove this content. But, I did want to call it out as it could well be problematic.

My guess is the page that lists "who is using ..." was intended as a set of testimonials. At least some of them are out of date. I didn't try to run them all down.

Those, and the footer link to Intelij, are easy enough to remove. I'd prefer to handle all the revision directives at once -- even though I raised this one myself -- hopefully the IP review will happen soon and I can get this wrapped up.

Thanks,

-- Ed

Listing member companies who contribute to an Eclipse Project or companies that adopt an Eclipse project's contents are generally okay (we have a programme for managing adopter listings that may be helpful). Just having the logo in the footer without context is weird and wrong. AFAICT, the Eclipse Foundation is unaware of any arrangement that requires (or permits, really) this placement in the footer.

Good question, Ed, and one that probably goes beyond the PMC.  This is probably a question for Eclipse Foundation or the EMO.  My guess is that these type of references would need to be "massaged" if these pages will be hosted on an EE4J or Jakarta site...  We are working through a similar "cleanup" exercise with MicroProfile when we became a WG.  It's not done yet, but it's been requested...

One question -- this for the PMC --
The Grizzly site lists several projects and organizations as references for Grizzly. Also, there is a link to IntelliJ in the common footer. I can only imagine these were endorsements worked out by the previous project team -- likely years ago. I've left them, but ... will this present a problem with Eclipse, or with the Working Group? I have not reached out to any of these organizations.
See the footer on any page (e.g. https://edbratt.github.io/grizzly-test/)

Thanks Ed. I had a quick look at the test sites and it looks good. I think the projects can clean the docs up after that.

Re: [External] : [ee4j-pmc] Donation of further documentation

I have submitted CQs for both HK2 and Grizzly docs. Test sites are pushed to my personal GitHub repositories if anyone wants to review -- I did not make an attempt to update any of the contents beyond revisions and references to their respective Eclipse project material.
https://edbratt.github.io/grizzly-test/ (compare with https://javaee.github.io/grizzly/)
https://edbratt.github.io/hk2-site-test/(compare with https://javaee.github.io/hk2/)
I believe these faithfully port the legacy material to our Eclipse projects. Presuming the submissions obtain IP clearance, I can check them in and have the Eclipse Admins. update the repository configs. to turn these on.
As I reported in the original issue that was "poked" recently, we had intended to contribute this material, but other things keep overrunning the priority list.
Once these are contributed community members can start working with the content to update it with the latest and greatest.
Cheers,

Hi,

An issue has been raised on the GlassFish project and referencing also the Grizzly project about documentation of HK2 and Grizzly. Documentation wasn’t donated with the initial Oracle donation. Does anybody know whether this was an oversight? Is there anything we can do to get documentation donated? See Updated documentation or Wiki · Issue #514 · eclipse-ee4j/glassfish-hk2 (github.com)for reference.

Thanks

Steve
