Re: [ee4j-pmc] Add Scott Stark to EE4J PMC

That's a great question, Markus.

The EDP is silent on specifics, but it's generally accepted that PMC members must have demonstrated some sort of merit. Whether or not that merit needs to be described in any detail in the nomination is entirely up to the PMC.

Note that the EDP has no formal notion of member company representation on a PMC, so there's not generally any notion of replacing one representative from a member company with another. Having said that, the EE4J has, as a stated goal that the PMC "should represent the major open source contributors to the projects within the top-level project" and this nomination IMHO aligns with that goal.

I'll point out that this election is being run in a public forum and if anybody has a concern with the nomination or requires more detail, they may speak up. FWIW, this is also true of committer elections.

My recommendation to the PMC is that they consider including a statement of merit with all future nominations.

Just for understanding the process: In committer elections, we have to describe the achievements of nominees. Doesn't that also apply to PMC nominations?

Betreff: [ee4j-pmc] Add Scott Stark to EE4J PMC

PMC Members,

Mark Little has indicated that he wants to withdraw from the EE4J PMC. I propose we add Scott Stark as his replacement from Red Hat.

Please respond with +1 (positive), 0 (abstain), or -1 (reject). Any feedback that you can provide to support your vote will be appreciated. Community input is welcome, but only votes cast by PMC members will be counted.
