Re: [ee4j-pmc] Jakarta EE Champions

This feels like something that's more in the scope of the working group.

The EE4J PMC is primarily concerned with ensuring that the EE4J open projects are successful open source projects. This includes, ensuring that the open source rules of engagement are observed (e.g. that project teams understand and follow the Eclipse Development Process and Eclipse Intellectual Property Process) and that project teams are able to properly colloborate and communicate.

Managing the Jakarta EE brand (which includes evangelism) is the purview of the Jakarta EE Working Group.

Hi All,

I'd like us to discuss potentially creating an evangelist program like Java Champions, but for Jakarta EE.  For those that are not aware, Java Champions is an officially backed program to recognize outstanding individuals who move Java forward in their communities and with their careers.  Nomination come from within the group.  There are usually a couple perks for getting in.  Being added means getting recognition and a pat on the back from other hardworking luminaries for being an outstanding citizen.  It's a badge of honor.

Can we add this as a discussion item to the next agenda?
