Re: [ease-dev] Adding a button to the main toolbar

Hi Mike,

unfortunately this does not work yet. You may attach scripts to view toolbars, view menus and popups. Main toolbar and main menu are not supported yet. Reason is that the e4 workbench persists the state of such entries, which results in buttons added on each startup. After the 2nd startup you would have 2 buttons for each registered script and so on.

Did not find a clean way yet of cleaning up the toolbar. There is an entry for Platform UI on bugzilla for this [1].

Hi all,

I am new to EASE and wanted to add a button to the main toolbar (where Save, Save All … are located) and not just to the toolbar of a view. Another option that I would like to do is add  new category and menu action to the main menu.

Is this possible? How do I set this up? Currently I use Py4j and included in the .py file:

# toolbar       : Package Explorer

I tried to use main or shell and other entries, but it seems not to work.
