Subject:

The purpose of this telecon was to discuss
the WST Data Tool plans, the database requirements of BIRT[1], and possible
contribution to WST Data Tools by Actuate who are leading the BIRT project.

Summary:

BIRT has a requirement for the database
connection and SQL editing tools planned for WST.
BIRT is planning to create a new XML
document format for Report Specification which could potentially benefit
from the Structured Source Editing (SSE) framework in WST.
The BIRT team will evaluate the Data
Tools after IBM refreshes them and will submit API requirements to the
WST project via this mailing list.

Members of the BIRT team are invited
to contribute to the Data Tools to help implement their requirements.
